San Clare offers comfortable accommodation aboard a fully equipped, high speed vessel. Whether you want to spend a week exploring the romantic and rugged Scottish islands, or an evening cruising down the Clyde, enjoying a gourmet dinner and spectacular views, we can provide the perfect way to do that. Based out of Troon Marina on the West Coast of Scotland, our experienced crew will ensure that all of your needs are met. Offering sleeping accommodation for 6 in three private bedrooms, each with it's own en-suite shower room, San Clare can be chartered for a week or an evening.
If an elegant evening is what you want, why not bring eleven guests and enjoy a sunset cruise down the Clyde. Cocktails followed by a buffet dinner will be served as your crew guides you slowly through the spectacular scenery. The evening will finish with a high speed dash back to the marina, so that you can be home in time for bed! San Clare is available for one or two week holidays, weekends, evening cruises, corporate retreats, cocktail parties, weddings, or anything else you can think of. A little bit about your Crew... Charlie and Marian Simmie have been sailing on the West Cost of Scotland for longer than they care to remember (well over 40 years each – but don’t tell them I told you!) They hand built their first boat when they were newlyweds and spent the next 30 years restoring and rebuilding a series of ever-larger classic wooden boats as they added two daughters and a host of dogs to their family. Weekends and summer holidays were spent on the West Coast of Scotland exploring the islands and anchorages; weekdays were devoted to paying the mortgage, so Marian worked as a physiotherapist, Charlie in the catering industry. When they got to thinking about retiring, they decided that the best way to enjoy life was to share their enthusiasm for sailing in Scotland with others and so San Clare Charters was born. They are members of the RYA and various yacht clubs and have their Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate with Commercial Endorsement, which includes navigation, first aid, sea survival certification. They are also accredited Wild life operators. Their combined experience
in hotel management and catering, together with their knowledge of the
waters around the west of Scotland gives them the ability to provide
a unique experience for their guests. |
