San Clare's main mooring is at Troon Marina, at the mouth of the Clyde, on the West Coast of Scotland. Troon Marina is located South-West of Glasgow, just up the coast from Glasgow-Prestwick airport and can be easily reached via road, rail and air. Below, are directions on the different ways in which you can get to the marina. If, when making a booking, you have arranged to meet San Clare at a different location, other than Troon, please ensure that you have all the neccessary directions in order to meet San Clare at the agreed time.
From the M74 North until J8, where you need to exit onto the A71 heading West to Kilmarnock. Continue along the A71 for about 25 miles until you reach the roundabout for the A77. Take the second exit off the roundabout onto the A77. Follow this road for a further 7 miles until you reach the A78. Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout onto the A78. Follow this road for 4 miles and take the exit signposted for the A759. After a fifth of a mile turn right onto Kilmarnock Road (B746) and then after 2 miles turn left onto Barassie Street. After a third of a mile turn right onto Templehill (B749). Follow this road for a further half a mile until you reach Troon Marina. There is a railway station in Troon, about one mile from Troon Marina. Trains run regularly from Glasgow and take about 40 minutes. For up to date information about train times try this link: www.trainline.co.uk.
If you are coming from further afield then Glasgow Airport has flight connections from all around the world. Once at the airport, it is about a 45-minute taxi ride to the marina. Alternatively, Glasgow-Prestwick, which also provides international flights, is only a 10-minute taxi ride away.
